Foundation for Community Driven Development (CDD) is a non-governmental organization with registration numbers 00NGO/R/0472 and LAP-2022-0011. The organization was founded in 2015 as a women youth initiative as a community-based organization (CBO) to support community that are affected by mining activity. In 2019 was officially registered as a NGO and expanded its activities according to the needs assessment carried out in an early state of its operation.

The organization strives to achieve sustainable development goals (SDG) in rural Tanzania, by working on the interconnected issues of social justice, good governance, environment, socio-economic, health, and peace.
To have inclusive sustainable development through capacity building, empowerment, technical skills and support use participatory approach for sustainable development.
To envision a community embed with own self development spirit.

MAIN OBJECTIVE

To improve the socio-economic development of poor rural communities through promoting human rights, good governance, legal, civic, and policy advocacy, and enhancement of access to justice and peace through the provision communitybased approach to the vulnerable and marginalized groups.

BENEFICIARIES

Beneficiary’s vulnerable and marginalized groups: Women, Children, PWDS, Small scale Miners, local leaders, fishing communities, Poor communities, and journalists.

GOALS

Create and enhance the abilities of young people in rural specifically: women, children, smallholder farmers, small-scale miners, fishers, teachers, local leaders, and journalists to actively engage in inclusive sustainable development through capacity building, empowerment, technical skills, and support.

an approach that help us to understand the importance of equal rights and opportunities for all individuals regardless of their social identity. This concept addresses unequal power relations between different social groups that cause exclusion.

PROTECTION

understand and prepare for protection concerns related to Youth Excel, which can be digital, physical and psychosocial so as to take local protection measures to prevent, mitigate and respond to risks and threats that Youth Excel can unintentionally exacerbate risks associated with programs, operations, and people).

ADVOCACY

Undertaking joint advocacy for implementing policies that provide opportunities for young people to build their capacity and contribute to development in the context of the region’s social, political, economic and environmental challenges; for removing legal barriers to youth access to education, decent work and adequate health care and their leadership and participation in decision-making and peacemaking processes; for enforcing the laws that intend to eliminate harmful practices with regards to youth such as child, early and forced marriage, gender-based violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

KNOWLEDGE GENERATION AND ANALYTICAL WORK

Undertaking joint analytical work and collection of information on policy options and on the status of young people in the region, including issues relating to inequality and vulnerability, for evidence-based advocacy to benefit governments and other stakeholders related to the specific objectives defined by the coalition.

INFORMATION SHARING AND NETWORKING

Contributing to a better understanding and development of a common approach related to the specific objectives defined by the coalition by strengthening mechanisms for sharing best practices. Establishing and maximizing the use of new and existing virtual platforms for dialogue and information sharing of experiences, tools, practices and evidence among coalition members and other stakeholders.

ENHANCING COOPERATION AND COORDINATION

Enhancing cooperation among members of the community in order to promote a unified regional voice, enhance synergies and minimize duplication of programs and initiatives at the regional level.
